The following is a somewhat grim reminder that the only perils on the road aren't always other drivers, and equally why it's so important to carry comprehensive coverage. While touring Lolo Pass between Lolo, Montana and Kooskia, Idaho, Ken, one of our Safetrip customers spotted a grizzly bear while enjoying the nature and scenery, unfortunately a little too late. Don't worry, he's fine. The bear, however, was deemed a total loss.

I shopped around a lot when looking for a company to insure my classic 1953 and 1964 Vespas. Fernet was by far the best. My main scooter Web site shows that many other scooter enthusiasts share my opinion. It was so easy. No nonsense. Michael, the rep, is a serious rider himself. Nothing like talking to someone who speaks the language. Some insurance agents, I discovered, didn't know what a scooter was and cc's were a foreign language.

If you need to insure your scooter, many of the larger insurance companies will offer policies which cover both larger and smaller scooters. Defintely shop around for rates, as they vary a lot more than you might think. My strongest suggestion is to contact Fernet Motorcycle Insurance Brokers at (800)391-8144, and ask to speak with Phyllis. She is great with finding the best policies, especially if you ride a vintage scooter (where your options are drastically slimmer, as not all insurance brokers carry a vintage vehicle program).
Thanks to Phyllis I have awesome rates on both my bikes.

I've found
Esurance to be considerably cheaper for my car, however,
some of the MC specific companies are nicer for us
two-wheeled operators. I've been very happy with Fernet
for
my MC/scooter
insurance
for about three years now.

Yeah I totally agree..fernet is the best! I called and talked to some chap named Michael-only $300 and some change..full coverage whoo-hooo! I feel like a fool because I sat and googled overseas insurance for two hours to find a good rate and apparently these guys do all that for you.
